I've been thinking about the Lights for Liberty event in West Capital Park on Friday, July 12, 2019.
If you had asked me on that sultry night if I thought I'd reach out to that list again on a bitterly cold day more than 5 years later, I would have hoped not. But here we are, and the cruelty is once again the point. No one knows what the next few days - or four years - will hold, but knowing that there are organizations like theirs give me hope. One of the suggestions I included in my "12 Days of Resistmas" was for folks to support a nonprofit organization that aligned with their priorities. I've checked in with the organizations that took part in the Lights for Liberty mobilization, and suggest you check them out. As a refresher, here's my blog post about the event - https://www.cmrcomms.com/smalltalk/archives/07-2019 I've updated the links in the Sway I created about the event (see below) so people can plug in where it makes the most sense to them. At this point, I'm sharing the list based on the snapshot in time that was Lights For Liberty. I know there are many other worthy organizations, but this seemed like as good a place as any to start. (I will also ask you to consider USCRI Albany.) Thank you for all you continue to do. Be well, Colleen PS: I'll be sharing this post on Bluesky and I hope we can connect there - @cmrcomms.bsky.social Comments are closed.
